First-person account by Jack Ward of the Dexter Boy Scouts' annual trek: a 4-day, 1,300-mile trip to Washington, D.C. (departed Methodist church parking lot Sunday, August 14), aboard their bus nicknamed 'Old Yeller.' The group stayed at Andrews Air Force Base and visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the FBI Building, the Bureau of Engraving, and the Smithsonian. Driver: Don Markleough; chiefs/leaders named include James Taylor, Norman Mathes, Jack Ward, Joe Layton (in charge of boys). Bill West, the group's preacher, gave a farewell prayer. Some surname spellings uncertain due to print clarity.
