Howard Harrison Lockhart, 65, of Rt. 1 Bloomfield (Aquilla community), died of cardiac arrest early Saturday, October 1, 1977 at the home of his brother in Turlock, Calif. Retired farmer; lived in Stoddard County about 30 years. Born July 16, 1912 in Cedar Creek, Ark., to Ethel Autrey and the late Benjamin Harrison Lockhart of Turlock, Calif. Married April 28, 1951 to Gladys Moore Lockhart, who survives at the home, Rt. 1, Bloomfield. Sons: Carlton Lockhart (Chicago, Ill.), Walton Lockhart (Flint, Mich.), Bill Lockhart (Chaffee), James Lockhart (Avert); daughters: Betty McAnelly (Vanduser), Athlene Bogle (Paxton, Ill.), Gearldine Lewis (Montrose, Mich.), Montene Watkins (Blodgett, Mo.), Naomi Chew (Montrose, Mich.). Eight stepchildren: William Baker (Chaffee), Willy Baker (Midland, Texas), Billy Joe Baker (Sikeston), Mary Surface (Bell City), Aline Hess (Delta), Georgia Surface (Sikeston), Hazel Carroll (Poplar Bluff), Wilma Perringlree (Puxico). Brothers: Earmon Lockhart (Flint, Mich.), Felton 'Jack' Lockhart (Turlock, Calif.); sisters: Pauline Bond (Turlock, Calif.), Juanita Bogle (Keyes, Calif.). Visitation Tuesday 7 p.m. Chiles-Cooper Chapel, Bloomfield; funeral services Wednesday 1 p.m. by Rev. Carl Robbins (Rt. 1, Puxico) and Rev. Henry J. Smith (Sikeston rural route, Tanner community).
