- 1977-11-28 Of the Dexter area. Dexter police stopped a 1969 Dodge he was driving at 12:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 1977; a National Crime Information Computer check showed the car had been reported stolen from St. Louis earlier. He was lodged in the Dexter city jail, then transferred to the Stoddard County jail at Bloomfield. Stoddard County prosecuting attorney Jim McGhee charged him with tampering with a motor vehicle, a felony. Passenger Tommy Jones of Dexter was held briefly and released.
